I have a Masters in Integrative psychotherapy from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI), in Nottingham, validated by the University of Birmingham. I am accredited by the UKCP.
How I work
Fundamentally, I offer a relational, developmental approach to therapy; I believe that, through our early relationships we each develop coping mechanisms in order to deal with day-to-day living. Unfortunately, at times of pressure, stress or conflict - often the very times when we need these strategies most - they can fail us. I believe that, through creating a safe, open relationship in psychotherapy, we can explore these coping mechanisms, providing you with the opportunity to adapt and reinforce them for the current situation and for the future.
I have long experience offering support to people going through difficult times in their lives, particularly supporting people suffering from chronic or terminal illness and with bereaved people, exploring the many complex issues which arise at such times. I also have an interest in working with issues relating to sexuality and gender identity.
